What is Product Management?
Product Management: Building Products People Love
Imagine you’re the captain of a ship.
You decide where the ship should go, what it should carry, and how to get there safely and efficiently. That’s essentially what a product manager does.
A Product Manager is the person responsible for the success of a product. They bridge the gap between the technical team (engineers, designers) and the business side (sales, marketing) by defining product requirements, and working with cross-functional teams to develop, launch, and improve products.
What does a Product Manager do?
Understanding the market: They identify customer needs and desires. For example, if people are tired of waiting in long queues at the bank, a product manager might think, “Let’s create a mobile banking app.”
Defining the product(Software): They create a detailed plan for the product, outlining its features, target audience, and goals.
Building a team: They assemble the right people to develop the product.
Launching and growing: They oversee the product launch and continuously improve it based on user feedback.
In essence, a product manager is a visionary who brings an idea to life and ensures it meets the needs of the market.
